The jungle, the real news to
We just returned from a (yeah!! I discovered on those pesky apostrophes keyboards !!!!) trek 3 days in the jungles of Borneo. The experience was incredible but first, let's recap what we've done since our last message.
We're staying two days at the rehabilitation center for orang-utan in Sepilok. Thursday we went to see the center during the period when they feed on monkeys. It was really impressive. In Malay "orang-utan" literally mean THE "man of the forest." Let me tell you that this expression fits them. These creatures are really smart. The platform or they Nour was about 10 m from us, so one could very well see them. Most of the orang-utan who still come to feed at the center are young. They were really cute I must say. So quiet too, I think that's what was most impressive, they are not violent or sudden in what they do and they emit no sound. This is true for cons they have to say that orang-utan of this center are all accustomed to human presence. We returned to the second meeting of "feeding" of the day so we had like the first.
The next day we left for our 3 day trek in the jungle on the Kinabatangan River. The trek consisted of 4 boat rides on the river (1 morning, 2 evening and 1 night) and dun trek on foot through the jungle in the morning and night. We logeions a camp really "basic", which made the experience may be a little more difficult, but perhaps more rewarding in a sense. We really feel like staying in the jungle. And we saw the "bugz" as they say ... Maybe not as much as we were told by cons and this was a bit disappointing for some of the towers. Many proboscis monkeys (look on google, they are really special), hornbills, a variety of frogs, varants, monkeys, tarantulas, scorpions, etc.. Are all by cons, most of the animals we have seen, anything really most impressive to us Westerners, was not so rare. We thought that if we could see if only one rare species, this trip would worth it. The last day arrived, all our treks and boat rides ends, but we have not seen something really special. We take the boat back to the nearest village to take the bus. Along the way, our driver noticed a crocodile! Wow really cool! A few minutes later, what we see at the top of a tree? A mother orang-utan and her baby wild!! Incredible! She was ours gem. We were attic.
Subsequently we took the bus to get where we are tonight, Semporna, on the seaside is where we intend to go diving on the island of Sipadan , one of the top 10 dive sites in the world apparently. Unfortunately, we look with more "dive shop" and they are all complete for this island has dives for at least a week: (Well, not so serious, there are several other islands nearby which are apparently almost as impressive Sipadan that, it will be very well satisfied. It feels great to get out of the jungle a bit for sure!
you soon!
By the way, do not be afraid to leave us comments and give us your news, it's been really fun!
